Couples who marry in our lovely historic church choose a traditional Christian Marriage Service as distinct to a civil celebrant.

We do not impose belief or baptism requirements, but welcome you, whoever you are, including those remarrying.

The act of marriage is a serious sacrament, one filled with joy and fulfilment. We recognise that there are many other aspects to a wedding, but our particular role is to carry out a caring spiritual ministry.

Initial Enquiries: Your first contact is to ring me . I will arrange a date and time to meet you to view the Church. Saturday and Sunday services are both available (Sunday subject to time of service).

Minister: We have a minister available and will put you in
touch to arrange your service. (Minister fee applies).

Marriage Preparation: This involves approximately three pre-marriage sessions with the Minister.

Legal Documents: The Minister will attend to the necessary documents to register your marriage. You will need to bring your birth certificate (or an extract), to the first interview. If you have been divorced or widowed, you will need your divorce decree absolute document or death of spouse certificate. If you are under 18 years, you will need special legal consent to marry.

Marriage Service: The service is based on the rites of the Uniting Church and is planned in conversation with the Minister, who will discuss the flow of the service, its meaning and the vows that you wish to make to each other. This conversation will include choice of hymns and readings as well as setting the time for the rehearsal.

Service Leaflets: We do not print Service leaflets. Some couples choose to provide an order of service, either through a professional printer or using a word processor. It is not necessary to have a sheet unless you so desire.

Music: Usually, our organist plays the organ for weddings. If you have special music requests we need several weeks notice. Hymns, both contemporary and traditional are available. Sometimes other musicians can be involved. CD or taped music of your choice can also be played.

Flowers: These are the responsibility of the couple. We can provide details of various florists in the area.

Photography/Video: We understand how important visual records are to you as a memento of your wedding day. For this reason, photographs and videos may be taken by professional photographers in an unobtrusive manner. Please speak to the Minister prior to the service re appropriate times during the service to take photos.

The Rehearsal: It is usual to have a rehearsal for the wedding and this takes place a day or two before the wedding. It takes about ½ hr. and requires the attendance of the full bridal party and anyone else involved with the service.

Confetti: No confetti, rice, rose petals to be thrown in the main area of the Church. No bluetack, glue, sticky tape, pins, staples or similar to be used on the woodwork, walls or pews.

Church Decorations: Window and pew decorations are of your choice.
Candles /flowers are options. These are to be supplied by the wedding couple.

Parking: Bridal party cars alongside of the Church. Other guests in the rest of the Church yard , in the local Hotel carpark, or in the main street.

Wedding Fees: The fee for use of the church is $300. This covers, the organist, Church Officer, Administration costs, use of Church facilities. Deposit is required when making booking and balance is due on the rehearsal night.
